Artist's Comments

Took this up in Salt Lake City at the zoo there. Not really sure if "Domesticated" is what I'd call it, but she's definitely not in the wild. What you can't see here, is that she's got two babies on her, never really got a look at their faces while I was there, but every now and then I'd see a hand. The other (older) children would come up every now and then and groom her or somehow try and take care of the babies.

Altered quite a bit here, saturation obviously, also made the background a much higher contrast, because grayscale just doesn't work the same as color so far as that goes.

Oh, and this was shot through glass, in case you wondered. If anyone knows what kind of monkey it is... I just can't remember. ;)

Haha, you weren't kidding when you made the title "Golden Monkey", I was excpecting a picture of a golden monkey statue of something ;P--- Well done with the color manipulation :D.

Great picture! I like the background and focus. The detail and color amazes me. I like the reflection of the monkey's goldenness on the rock to the right.

Is it a Howler monkey? I'm not sure either...I might have to look into that. Ha ha. This is nice, but I think the contrast of the backgrounds a bit much, other than that though, I like it. ^^

Not a howler... as for the background, there wasn't much detail in the original, but that's my fault regardless. ;)

I didn't show the reflection at first, but thought it'd make an interesting effect.

A very pretty picture, the texture of the rock in the both the fore and the mid-ground is pretty cool. When you took this did you have a particular feeling in mind? or was it more of a documentary photograph?
