It's his first run, and he's worried. He's got no thumbs, and he was in a hurry. But if he takes this time to look and study, Soon he'll shoot better than anybody. ------- Long setup on this one... I got the idea from trying to take a stock photo of just film, when I remembered this little guy. So I sat him in the lightbox, took a couple shots, found that it was hard to move things around with the flaps in the way, so I had to cut those off. Then I noticed the shots had dust on them, so I had to take my camera all apart and clean it up (hair and dirt on the sensor ><.
From there on it went something like, shoot, adjust position, white balance, items, shoot, adjust.... etc etc. Until eventually I had everything lined up as good as possible. Much different from my normal shoot, edit in PS until it's what I want.
Then came the post production, clean up the creases in the paper that I couldn't get out, and get that white balance dead on (Kelvin in camera got close, but not where I wanted it). And played about with curves, levels, and whatnot.
Anyhow, I'm going to grab a few different angles and setups on this shot before I tear it all down, but this was the idea, and so this is the shot I HAD to get.
It's a very cute picture, it somehow reminds me of the Pixar desk lamp . very well executed, i especially like the reflection coming from the magnifying glass.

Many of life's failures are those who didn't realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
Very Cool, I'm surprised that our light box fit all of that! I really like the setup, as to how you are trying to not just take a picture of one thing, but of many things.
I would still keep the one you have. From what I've heard you should always use a properly sized light tent. Basically, you don't need a 6 ft x 6 ft box for a soda can. Then again, I'm no expert by far.
